Latest rumor pointing to imminent launch

Apple is allegedly preparing to refresh its MacBook Pro notebook lineup sometime next week, unnamed sources have told 9to5Mac. Several recent reports appear to corroborate the same rumor, though the latest details suggest the launch event may be imminent.

The company is said to be introducing new 13-, 15- and 17-inch models, however hardware differences from current offerings are expected to be limited to new processors and Bluetooth 4.0 support. The notebooks will allegedly integrate Intel's latest Sandy Bridge CPUs, including several new quad-core chips.

The modest speed improvements are expected to arrive without any changes to the existing MacBook Pro price structure. Apple has yet to publicly confirm launch plans, however the rumors and supply hiccups point to a potential introduction as early as Tuesday.

    Re: leverage the..

Sorry, they can't, since it would need to be part of the OS, and they can't add to the OS until 10.8.

And 'useful'? Um, yeah, sure. Just like voice recognition has been for the past 20 years. Oh, wait.

Oh, I know, they were just waiting for Apple to get into the market. Oh, wait, they did that, 15 years ago. And then got out again (remember how some version of OS 8/9 had voice login? Yeah, where'd that go?).

And if MS had bought Siri and put it into Windows 7 or 8, how much would you be talking about it being a "killer product" and how much a "niche conversation piece with no real benefit"?
