Mozilla intros Bing add-on for Firefox browser

Mozilla has taken its relationship with Microsoft and its Bing search engine up to another level. It is now offering to add Bing to its Firefox browser, with the add-on setting the Microsoft search engine as the default and Bing as the homepage. The add-on for the latest version of Firefox also includes the Awesome Bar, Mozilla's hybrid search and address bar. Older versions of Firefox need to be upgraded, and doing so includes the switchover to Bing as the default search engine.

The team-up is arriving just weeks before Mozilla and Google's search deal expires. This is seen as the latest move from Microsoft to put a dent in the dominance Google enjoys in the search engine and online ad business as the two continue their battle.
