Pure Music to offer £5 per month straming service

Undercutting the other popular service, Spotify, Pure Music has just launched a cloud-based music service, RegHardware found. Its monthly subscription fee is £5 (about $8), or nearly half the price of Spotify's price. The Pure service will stream from a library of millions of songs, radio channels and mixes to notebooks, smartphones and Pure's own DAB radios.

The service will also allow offline listening, though this won't come until a later, undisclosed date and may be part of a costlier plan. iOS users should soon have a free app for the Pure service, while an Android version is coming afterwards.

The service will be up in December, and UK owners can sign up for updates on the service now.

    Nearly half?

Spotify Premium is $9.99. I'm trying to work out how $8 is "nearly half the price".
