Features dual-band 802.11n, more

TRENDnet is now shipping the TEW-680MB, a dual-band wireless "N" media bridge with 450Mbps throughput. The device -- which can connect to up to four media center devices (such as game consoles, media players, internet televisions and others) through Gigabit Ethernet ports -- also features a one-button security setup (when used with TRENDnet routers), native WPS security and a Quality of Service technology that prioritizes gaming, internet calls and video streams.

Because it is dual-band, users can connect media center devices on the 5GHz network for maximum speed, while allowing other peripherals that use the slower 2.4GHz bandwidth can do so without interfering with the higher-speed devices. The media bridge is intended to work with networked storage drives, internet-ready DVRS and televisions, consoles and computer. The company recommends that it be paired with a 450Mbps router rather than a 300Mbps model to keep speeds at their highest.

The product originally debuted at the Computex show in Taipei in June. It includes a three-year warranty and retails for $170.
