Microsoft issues media invite for new WP7 event

Microsoft is planning on holding a Windows Phone 7 event in New York on November 7. The company has issued an invite to the media for the event that it says will showcase new Windows 7.5 (Mango) Phone devices and chat to Joe Belfiore and Andy Lees. The event also coincides the rumored launch of the Tango third-party video chat app for Windows Phones.

The three phones featured in the promo are all available on the AT&T network. They include the Samsung Focus Flash, the Samsung Focus S and the HTC Titan. Representatives from the telco are also expected to be in attendance.

Microsoft hint that there will be some sort of significant announcement saying “That’s not the only big thing Windows Phone has planned…” The invitation follows hot on the heals of the major Nokia Windows Phone 7 launch earlier this week. [via CNET]
