RIM offers buy 2 get 1 free deal for PlayBooks

In an attempt to shore up sales of its slow-selling BlackBerry PlayBook tablet, RIM is now making a limited-time offer to enterprise customers. It involves buying two tablets and getting the third one for free, but only until December 31. The deal doesn't include the price cuts down to $300, however.

The tablets need to be purchased from an authorized reseller, a list of whom is available on the deal site. Buyers will also get one free premium accessory for every two PlayBooks bought. The choice includes a black leather sleeve, charging pod or a six-foot HDMI cable.

RIM has tried cutting prices for home users and briefly had sales down to $300 or its European equivalent. Early though unconfirmed reports have suggested that these are having little effect, in part because of the recent BlackBerry outage but also a home audience that still overlooks nearly every tablet outside of the iPad. Corporate buyers may be less susceptible, although Apple has noted that 92 percent of the Fortune 500 is either testing or using the iPad at work. [via BGR]
