Windows Phone Xbox Companion app shows Vudu

Microsoft at the Nokia World 2011 show demonstrated its Xbox Companion remote app for Windows Phone 7. During the video demo, the screen of the handset showed off an orange tile with the Vudu Movies label. This functionality hasn't been detailed before, and Vudu is currently exclusive to Sony's PS3.

The Xbox Companion app otherwise lets users control video playback on their Xbox 360 games consoles, along with browsing for content and searching with Bing. Gaming is also possible with compatible games, as another demo showed off Kinectimals, with the animal characters jumping back and forth from the console to the phone. [via Engadget]
