Lenovo S2 to take Chinese Windows Phones past ZTE

Lenovo should help expand Windows Phone's Asian footprint beyond ZTE if photos are accurate. Identified only as the S2 at winphonexap, it superficially resembles the rounded look of the Samsung Focus. A conspicuous front camera and branding make it clear that it's unique.

The software doesn't provide many clues as to what the hardware will be like, although the Chinese characters point to it using Windows Phone 7.5. Apps for China's QQ and other local services are on the home screen.

Allegedly, Lenovo may try to play both sides and make the same phone both in Android and Windows Phone versions. Launch dates and other details for either haven't been given out, though, and hint Lenovo might not show either until 2012. [via WinRumors]
