New release, 2.2, now supports Mango
Facebook has released a new version of its app for Windows Phone 7 owners. The new release 2.2 (free, Marketplace) incorporates features native to Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango). Among them are the ability to pin specific app features to the home screen, leaping to a specific part of the app.
Other changes bring improved notifications with more events, including friend requests and photo tagging. Although the release is supposed to be smoother and faster, initial user reviews are split.
Windows Phone itself already has basic Facebook integration for status updates and sharing, but the native app allows access to events and other features that aren't available in Microsoft's OS from the start.
