Mophie ships Juice Pack Plus Outdoor Edition

Accessory maker Mophie has launched a new case bundle, the Juice Pack Plus Outdoor Edition. Included is a one-year subscription for the Mophie Outdoor GPS app, which covers the continental US and Hawaii. In parallel buyers get a year-long subscription to the Mophie Outdoor Edition website, which allows desktop viewing and planning. After that duration site access will cost $20 a year.
The case itself is colored a special orange and gray for the bundle, and fits an iPhone 4 or 4S. It incorporates a 2,000mAh battery, which is said to more than double an iPhone's normal battery life. It should, for instance, add as much as six hours of GPS use, or up to 7 hours of 3G Internet, though mixed use will affect exact figures.
Mophie is selling the Outdoor Edition bundle from its website for $120. The app is a free download, and uses data from either AccuTerra or Google Maps. A subscription normally costs $30 a year.
