ASUS to ship 11.6-inch U24E notebook with Core i5 in Japan

ASUS U24E to get Core i5, 750GB hard drive
ASUS may ship a new notebook this month, according to an unofficial report. The 11.6-inch notebook would get Intel's 2.4GHz Core i5, a 750GB hard drive and integrated HD 3000 graphics with an HDMI output, NotebookReview understood. Its promised battery life would be relatively long at seven hours.
The specs otherwise include a 720p display resolution, 4GB of RAM, two USB 3.0 ports, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi and a 0.3-megapixel camera. An SDXC memory card reader is equally stock. Weight isn't as low as for the Zenbooks at 3.3lbs.
The notebook is expected to ship on November 6 in Japan for 59,800 yen (about $766). A US release date isn't yet known. [via TheVerge]
