Small speakers able to fit into tight spaces

Energy has debuted its first multimedia speaker system with the Energy Power EM-2.1, a front-firing subwoofer and compact two satellite speaker system that features fiber composite cone drivers. The speakers, which are about the size of a wall outlet, sit easily on either side of a monitor or computer, while the subwoofer is also compact in size, making it a true "desktop" system.

Users simply plug the speakers and their computer into the subwoofer with an included 60-inch cable to get started. The subwoofer has front-panel controls for handing variations of volume or tone, and is designed to be put on the desk rather than the floor. The system handles 25 watts of power and has a frequency range of 80Hz-20KHz (plus or minus three decibels). The system is lightweight (under three pounds total) and compact, making it ideal for smaller spaces or workspaces. Also included in the packages is a five-foot 3.5mm headphone cable.

The system is available now at leading electronics retailers and sells for $100.
