Sprint: iPhone 4S speed problems not 'easily replicable'

updated 09:45 am EDT, Thu November 3, 2011

Apple, Sprint still working on complaints

Sprint is indeed working with Apple on solving problems with slow iPhone 4S connection speeds, but there is no progress to report yet, according to head of product development Fared Adib. Adib's statement is noted to be Sprint's first direct acknowledgement that some 4S owners are encountering unusually slow 3G. He adds, though, that the company doesn't "see anything that is easily replicable," which is creating problems with diagnosing and fixing the cause of the trouble.

The number of people complaining is said to represent a single-digit percentage of Sprint iPhone 4S users. A thread on the carrier's messageboards, however, now has over 1,300 replies, and nearly 250,000 views. Adib claims that Sprint will let people know as soon as a solution is discovered, and that the iPhone has otherwise given the company its best results for customer satisfaction, as well as its lowest return rate.

    One thread

1300 replies on one thread doesn't count the number of people having the issue. For all we know, that could be a half dozen noisy users. 250,000 views doesn't matter much either. Lots of people hear the story and go check it out. Doesn't mean any of them are having the issue.

I tend to believe Sprint on this one that only a small percentage of users are suffering this problem.
