HTC Rezound spoiled hours before intro
A last-minute catch has shown the official, complete look of the HTC Rezound. Due to show this afternoon, the Android 2.3 device shown by PocketNow very closely resembles the Vivid at AT&T but with signature HTC-at-Verizon red cues and a more rounded design. Its Beats Audio and 4G logos are clearly in sight, although the shots don't give away what's on screen.
Separately, the same source of a recent hands-on video with the Rezound, WorldOfJohnboy from DroidForums, has posted a handful of videos [since pulled]. The clips included both a demo of Beats in action as well as 1080p video samples both with and without some live effects filters.
The Rezound will share the LTE data of the Vivid but should be an upgrade in other respects. The 4.5-inch display should jump to a full 720p vertical (720x1280) resolution and will be matched by a slightly faster, 1.5GHz Snapdragon chip. HTC will bundle the Rezound with special Beats headphones that, like the Sensation XE, will switch over to a unique audio profile that theoretically makes the most of the headphones.
Verizon is expected to carry the Rezound as soon as next week.
