LG Optimus 3D owners are finally going to receive an update from Android 2.2 (Froyo) to Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) by the end of November, around the same time as Android 4.0 is expected to officially land. The update brings with it the usual suite of improvements that come with the upgrade, as well as some Optimus 3D extras. A leaked build that recently leaked shows that the update is based on Android 2.3.5.

The special extras included for Optimus 3D users are better 3D video capturing as well as enhancements to 2D and 3D video editing. 3D to 2D conversion is also improved. Certain units will also benefit from faster HSPA+ cellular data with speeds up to 21Mbps.

Other improvements to arrive in the Gingerbread update include speed and stability refinements, improved power management, an improved keyboard as well as better codec support. [via Android Central]
