Xperias all over the world get Android 2.3.4
Sony Ericsson recently unveiled a slew of updates for its Xperia line of smartphones. All eligible Xperia hardware worldwide, as well as the Live with Walkman, will now get a software update to Android 2.3.4, which will bring with it a Swype-like gesture input for text. It will make texting faster, though takes some practice, as users don't have to lift a finger to enter words.
Automatic spacing can also be enabled, allowing users to compose messages even faster. Gesture input supports all languages of the international keyboard as well.
Certain features won't be available on all models due to hardware or other restrictions, such as the lack of Google Talk video chat on models without a front-facing camera. The Xperia Play won't get 3D panorama sweep for its camera, but it will have HD video recording.
The other changes include updated Facebook inside Xperia, 16X digital video zoom, and the ability to connect to the Sony Ericsson LiveDock and peripherals as well as to an HDTV using its HDMI output. DLNA media sharing is also new for some, as is a screen capture feature.
