Sony readies Internet-aware Bloggie camcorder

A recently discovered FCC filing has shown that Sony wants an Internet-aware Bloggie pocket camcorder. The MHS-TS55, labeled on the bottom as a "Mobile HD Snap Camera," has built-in 802.11n Wi-Fi that isn't on current cameras. It's presumed the wireless would let it post videos online without having to sync with a computer first, or possibly live stream video.

Little else is known, although the mention of HD and the HDMI video out point to it likely keeping 1080p video. All Bloggie cameras have usually followed the same formula started by the defunct Flip Video line with a built-in USB connector and a simple interface.

The timing of the filing suggests Sony will be repeating its pattern of introducing new Bloggie cameras at the CES expo in January each year. They currently start at $120, although Wi-Fi will more likely inflate the real price. [via CNET]
