Facebook chief grilled Steve Jobs on info

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg got direct advice from Steve Jobs on how to run a business, the social networking CEO mentioned in an interview due to air Monday night. The discussion on Charlie Rose saw Zuckerberg mention that he had a "lot of questions" for Apple's leader in his later years. He wanted to know the overall design and goals of companies but also to get the same inspiration from staff that Jobs had managed.

"[I want to know] how to build a team around you that's focused on building as high quality and good things as you are," Zuckerberg said, according to Bloomberg's account of the interview.

The mention supports earlier rumors of Zuckerberg and Jobs meeting together. The young executive is generally thought to have been a personal fan of Steve Jobs and wanted to emulate some of his aggressive board room style and decision making at Facebook in its early days. Among these included Zuckerberg's now legendary but since tossed "I'm the CEO, bitch" business card.

Although the two companies soured briefly over iTunes Ping integration, the two have aligned more closely in recent months. It's rumored that Facebook downplayed its HP TouchPad work to live up to a promise to Jobs that an iPad-native app would be Facebook's first full app on a tablet.

Zuckerberg added that he was aware of Steve Jobs' compliments to Facebook, where he praised the company for refusing to "sell out" and dilute its focus. "I took it as this amazing compliment," he said. "I know that’s one of the ways in which... in which we saw eye to eye on kind of what we were trying to do in the world."
