Motorola Droid 4 already showing up in Verizon systems

updated 01:45 pm EST, Mon November 7, 2011

Keyboard slider could hit shelves by year's end

Late last month photos of the forthcoming Motorola Droid 4 began popping up online. Now comes additional evidence from Droid-Life that information on the smartphone is making its way into several Verizon information systems. If Verizon holds true to its pattern, the newest Motorola 4G phone with keyboard could be hitting shelves before the end of the year.

Inside, the Droid 4 may be very similar to the Droid RAZR being launched on Friday. It could sport the same dual-core 1.2GHz TI OMAP processor, a 1080p-capable camera (likely eight megapixels), and a Super AMOLED screen. Recent images of the phone showed it running Android 2.3, but is possible it could either ship with the Ice Cream Sandwich OS (Android 4.0) or have the OS shortly afterwards.
