Siri gets on to oldest iOS device yet

Siri has been hacked on to its oldest device yet after Grant Paul and Steve Troughton-Smith successfully produced code to get it working on the iPhone 3GS. The voice command system works largely as anticipated, including the connection to Apple's servers. Only integration with Activation was waiting, Ryan Petrich of Medialets said after trying the bootleg code.

The hack had already been working on the iPhone 4 and iPod touch. Other than possible slight visual performance differences, the functionality appears to be the same.

Rumors have surfaced of Apple extending Siri support back to older devices, although these have been far from confirmed. While Apple may have restricted Siri to the iPhone 4S to help drive sales, its network-based nature has led to speculation that Apple only wanted to control the growth rate to avoid oversaturating its servers.

    Wrong order!

Why don't you concentrate on the previous generation first, then worry about the 2-year-old products afterwards.
