HTC Ville due for unveiling at MWC 2012?

A new HTC smartphone, the Ville, will be officially unveiled at Mobile World Congress, BGR learned. The phone, which is currently running under its codename only, will reportedly be out in April and likely be the first to sport HTC Sense 4.0 laid overtop Android 4.0. Major specs are believed to include a 4.3-inch, 540x960 Super AMOLED touchscreen and a 1.5GHz, dual-core Snapdragon processor, making it roughly as fast as the Rezound.

Its signature feature may be design. According to the tip, it would sport a metal body that is just 8mm (0.31in) thick and would be so thin that it wouldn't get an NFC radio. An eight-megapixel camera would be inside with backside illumination, rendering it low-light ready, and the ability to record 1080p video. An HSPA+ radio and a moderately sized 1,650mAh battery round out the claimed details. Like some other recent HTC phones, Beats branding would be part of the handset.

The MWC event is also expected to host the unveiling of the quad-core Edge phone and is scheduled to start on February 27 in Barcelona, Spain.
