It sports a full-color touchscreen with a 1024x600 resolution A much-customized Android 2.3 operating system is used for the interface with an emphasis on a virtual shelf and Amazon's cloud service. A dual-core, 1GHz TI OMAP processor powers the device, and it offers 8GB of integrated storage space.

Both Amazon and several major US retailers, such as Best Buy and Walmart, will have the Kindle Fire for $200.
