Sprint begins rolling out Android 2.3 for Epic 4G

The Samsung Epic 4G on Sprint has finally received its upgrade to Android 2.3, the carrier announced. The over-the-air maintenance update will be sent out automatically, but only to eligible handsets. The updated OS contains improved download management, giving access to files downloaded from the browser, e-mail or other app.

Apart from the newer OS and all the benefits that brings, a fix is also included for streaming media through some apps, as is one for improving Bluetooth headset sound quality. Smaller issues were also addressed with the lock screen date and Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync HTML tagging.
