WIMM developer preview kit ships for $299

WIMM Labs is now offering its One Developer Preview Kit for purchase, but only to registered developers. The wearable platform hardware now allows programmers to test and refine the Micro apps they created using the already available SDK. WIMM uses a modified Android OS to make devices that can be worn, mainly watches, that sport a tiny 1.4-inch, capacitive touchscreen and a 667MHz Samsung processor.

The hardware costs $300 and includes a 36x32mm main module, a wrist watch strap mount, watch faces, and pre-loaded Micro apps that include a calendar, weather, a timer, and a world clock, all in beta.

The kit will pair with Android, BlackBerry and iOS devices, and includes both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth radios. An accelerometer and magnetometer are likewise built-in and allow motion tracking. The device can be managed using a desktop browser or through other mobile devices.
