PlayStation Suite SDK beta opened to developers

Sony is now offering developers a chance to sign up for consideration on joining its closed beta PlayStation Suite SDK. With it, they will have the ability to develop games for the upcoming PS Vita and Android devices that aren't Sony-branded. The SDK uses the C# programming language and will run on a C# virtual machine.

The beta SDK works on Windows XP 32-bit computers and both versions of Windows 7. Sony hopes to get a limited number of users into the program for feedback in order to improve the SDK. Corporate and individual developers will be considered, but not all will be allowed to join. Developers in the UK, Japan, and the US can submit apps in English.

Simlutaneously, the Xperia arc and Xperia acro in Japan are now PlayStation Certified and can run games that will work with virtual controls. [via SlashGear]
