Tying in using Afterburner app with contest

MSI has brought its Afterburner APP overclocking utility to iOS devices. The app enables iPhone and iPad owners to to monitor performance of their PC's video card over Wi-Fi and then make adjustments through the mobile device (free, App Store). To encourage people to download and use the app, MSI is running a contest with graphic cards and tablets as prizes.

The Afterburner app was jointly developed by MSI and programmer Nick Connors. With it, users can observe the core temperature, frequency, memory clock speed, and fan speed of their desktop graphics card over a Wi-Fi connection. They can adjust these from their iPhone or iPad.

The giveaway offers users a chance to win a Radeon HD 6870 graphics card with a copy of Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. To win, a user needs to download, install and run the Afterburner app. They then must take a photo of both their iOS device and computer screen showing the app running. The image must then be linked to MSI's contest web page. In addition, MSI is asking iOS users to review the Afterburner iOS App. They will be awarding two reviewers an MSI N480GTX Lighting graphics card and an MSI WindPad 100W tablet PC. The contest ends December 3.

This is not the first platform to get the MSI Afterburner app. The company released an Android version of the software back in June (free, Android Market). At the time, MSI ran a similar contest.
