T-Mobile makes offer to existing subscribers

T-Mobile has responded to its own concerns about subscriber churn due to the iPhone 4S effect. In an unusual step, T-Mobile has made an offer available to its existing subscribers as part of an official company strategy to stop them from switching to another provider. Existing subscribers are being offered a special upgrade offer to the either the T-Mobile myTouch by LG or T-Mobile myTouch Q by LG saving them $100 off the normal upgrade price.

Users who take advantage of the special offer will be able to claim a $50 discount upfront, with another $50 back through a mail-in-rebate. The deal is unusual as such offers have typically been made to new subscribers, not existing subscribers. To qualify for the deal users must have contract tenure of 18 or more months, eligible for same as new, or early upgrade pricing and hold a Classic rate plan only with a $20 or higher web feature.

The offer is available from November 9 to December 28.
