Moto RAZR just out, already rooted
Motorola's Droid RAZR has already been rooted. The device, which has just been released has had instructions on how to root the device posted on an Android user forum. However, as with all Android hacks, it is not for the feint of heart - there are no custom recovery or SBF files available if things go wrong.
The hack is available as a download for either Windows 32-bit or 64-bit versions. If the steps have been followed properly, the RAZR will be rooted to Android 2.3.5 (Gingerbread). While the rooting process gives users access to files that they normally wouldn't have, and permit customized OS tweaks, it will also void a user's warranty.
Motorola had promised to start unlocking its bootloaders in "late 2011" in order to make the rooting process easier. It is not yet known if this is what helped enable the fast hack of the device. [via Android Central]
