Update arrives months after original promises
Although the Droid Incredible has been discontinued for several months, some users are reporting that Verizon is finally releasing a Gingerbread update for the device. HTC originally announced plans for an Android 2.3 upgrade sometime in September, however the company failed to meet its promise and never disclosed a revised time-frame.
Aside from the basic Gingerbread OS enhancements, the update is said to bring improved Bluetooth functionality and changes to the Verizon category in the Android Market. The release also claims to resolve bugs related to voice commands, low memory for SMS messages, and apps loaded on SD cards.
The Gingerbread update appears to be rolling out gradually as an over-the-air release. [via Droid-Life]
