Boxee Box Live TV adapter adds to mix
Boxee confirmed its own beta leaks by putting up the Boxee Box Live TV stick. The USB TV tuner is intended to catch free over-the-air TV and let Boxee Box users catch live sports and first-airing TV shows in HD. The tuner gets its own customized interface and will get program IDs, show recommendations from friends,
It uses a typical co-ax link and can even get some unprotected cable, although Boxee makes clear that it's targeting cord-cutters. Boxee insists that it's seeing more cord-cutters and believes that claims denying cord-cutting are just attempts to minimize the impact of viewers dropping expensive service.
Pre-orders are starting today for the tuner, which is available in the US and Canada and costs $49 US. It's not clear if the tuner will work beyond the Boxee Box.
Update: We got in touch with Boxee, which says the tuner only talks to the Boxee Box, not PCs.

I guess you could hook your Boxee to a big computer monitor but most of us already have TVs which have tuners.
