Flipboard ready with promised sign-ins

Flipboard on Thursday should post an update to its iPad app (App Store, updates soon) that adds some of its more requested features. The optimized news reader now has an account system that allows multiple readers to share the one app. It also brings portability, so those who switch to a new device can get back to their exact setups quickly.

Also new are more social sources. Tumblr logs can now have their own dedicated home tiles. Newcomer but quickly rising photo sharing site 500px also has its own optional feed.

The update works on any iPad. It doesn't yet have updates on Android and iPhone ports, although CEO Mike McCue implied that the iPhone version was coming first.

the current version of Flipboard currently has a feed for the 500px "Editor's Choice." hopefully, the newer version will allow following individual users' photo feeds. there's a lot of good work on that site!
