Next Issue Media app out for more Android tablets

The Next Issue app is now launching beyond just the Galaxy Tab and to other Android-powered tablets. Now, tablets from Motorola, Sony and Toshiba, as well as the Amazon Kindle Fire, can also download the app that allows users to buy digital versions of magazines and newspapers. Verizon Wireless also has access to the app through its tablets.

Other than this expansion, the app has added more content, including titles from publishers and Next Issue Media investors Hearst and Time Inc. It already offered titles from other backers Condé Nast, Meredith and News Corp.

The app is still not released for Apple iOS devices. Apple has its own, similar service, but doesn't offer all the same titles as Next Issue. A full-featured product release is due out early in 2012 and hopes to offer 40 titles before year's end. The latest magazine additions include Car and Driver, Coastal Living, ELLE, Golf, and Real Simple. [via mocoNews]
