Panasonic looking for PR firms in phone launch

Panasonic is looking for a PR firm to help it market smartphones outside of Japan, PRWeek reported on Thursday. The move would mark a return to the smartphone market, which Panasonic last visited in 2005 by selling smartphones in Japan. The new devices would be Android-based and be sold in several countries in 2012.

The company aims to sell the devices in the UK and five other, unnamed European countries. Panasonic reportedly spoke to five consumer agencies in the UK. One possible device the company will likely bring to market is the P-07C, which gets a 4.3-inch touchscreen and a mobile TV tuner.
