Receiver paired with 5.1-channel speakers

Yamaha has introduced its latest home theater system, the BDX-610, which pairs an A/V receiver with six speakers. The 5.1-channel receiver features a 3D Blu-ray player, along with a network connection that enables users to access BD-Live and Netflix, among other services. Users can attach iOS devices via USB, with audio from iPhones or iPods sent as a digital PCM signal.

The speakers are powered by a 500-watt amplifier, splitting 80 watts across each primary channel and 100 watts dedicated for subwoofer output, with support for a range of audio formats such as Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, Dolby Digital Plus and DTS-HD High Resolution Audio. Other features include an HDMO output with audio return channel, and DLNA 1.5 certification.

The BDX-610 is now available for $700, while the receiver can be purchased alone for $550. [via The Verge]
