Nintendo 3DS gets Zelda, Mario bundles this week

Nintendo confirmed some rumors and brought two special edition 3DS bundles to the US. The previously Europe-only Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D bundle includes both the game and a unique black 3DS with the Hyrule logo, and other trim elements, in a gold hue. A more conventional Super Mario 3D Land bundle mates a regular red 3DS with the new Mario platformer.

The two bundles will both carry a $30 premium over a plain, games-free 3DS, costing $200 each. Nintendo is planning an unusual launch in the US, where both will be available Thanksgiving Day, or November 24. Many stores aren't open that day, suggesting it might only be available online until the following day.

The two are the first real special editions for the 3DS in North America and might be key to helping Nintendo break a sales record for the first year of a Nintendo handheld.
