Galaxy Nexus delay in US is official
After remaining silent for days, Samsung confirmed Tuesday night that the Galaxy Nexus on Verizon was delayed to December. The carrier didn't give a specific date or a reason for the last-minute setback from the original November target. It comes just days after Canadian carriers settled on December 8, however, and leaks have pointed to a similar Verizon date.
The Verizon Galaxy Nexus will be the first LTE version of the inaugural Android 4.0 phone and also the first, if not only, CDMA version. It may accordingly have differences that are unique and could trigger delays, although that doesn't explain why the Canadian release is also coming later. Samsung did tell Electronista before that it planned to keep the US and Canadian releases in sync.
No indication has come that the volume bug is responsible. The issue only appears to affect some European users trying to make phone calls on a 900MHz GSM network, which isn't used in North America.
