Handtec stops selling Galaxy Nexus because of bug

UK-based electronics store Handtec has stopped selling the Galaxy Nexus on its site because of the recently discovered volume bug. Those who pre-ordered the handset and still want it shipped, despite the possibility of the issue, can still request it and get a special delivery from Handtec. Those opting for an exchange afterwards will need to pay for the shipping and handling of both the broken and replacement models, the shop warned.

The device at the store is only available as an unlocked mode without a SIM card and costs £510 (about $800).

Handtec tested some devices for the volume bug and concluded that not all of them were affected by the issue, but that enough were problematic that it was likely to get a high number of returns and risk losing money. Samsung has yet to fully acknowledge the volume flaw or to say whether a fix will be available in software or else through replacements.
