Black Friday puts crush on supplies

US retailer Best Buy has completely exhausted its online stock of the iPad 2, a check shows. All models are now listed as "sold out online," including even top-end 64GB 3G tablets. Stock was available as recently as earlier today.

The rush is attributable to a $45 Thanksgiving weekend discount on all models. Many local Best Buys are also likely out of stock; a check in the Austin, Texas area shows no stores with inventory. Apple itself continues to have all models available at its online store, with Black Friday price cuts ranging from $41 to $61.
