Nokia promises Lumia 800 battery fix
Nokia's Lumia 800 will get an out of sequence fix for battery issues in the next several days. In a response to complaints on the official UK forums, the company said it would put out an update for the Windows Phone hardware in early December to boost "power efficiency." A second, in early January, would introduce more improvements.
Either update would be available through either through the Zune app on Windows PCs or Windows Phone 7 Connector on the Mac.
Early adopters of the Lumia 800, which just went on sale this month, have complained that the battery life is only just adequate and lower than what would be expected. Nokia at first downplayed the causes and for now still says that only a minority of users face the problem.
Microsoft normally reserves Windows Phone updates for its own updates for every manufacturer, but it's willing to push software out of cycle if bugs come up. [via The Next Web]
