PS Vita may get Remote Play for 'all' PS3 games

PS Vita might be usable as PS3 game control
Sony's PlayStation Vita might be used even more as a game controller than the PSP was in the past. A rumor late this week for Eurogamer has the Vita getting a firmware update post-launch that would let the PS3 be used to play "all games." Legacy games would be capped at the PSP's 480x272 output, but games written after the update could use the PS Vita's native 960x544 resolution.
At a minimum, Remote Play allows for more intelligent control. Games that need two of the extra shoulder buttons that aren't on the Vita will see them remapped to the touchscreen. Certain games might also take direct interaction, such as modifying the world in Little Big Planet.
Remote Play might also help endorse use of the feature if every game supports it versus the sporadic support of today.
Japanese gamers will have the longest wait, as they get the Vita at the end of this year. Americans and Canadians will have to wait until at least February 15 if they've pre-ordered the First Edition or hold off for the regular February 22 street date. Sony is charging $249 for the Wi-Fi version and $299 for a Vita with built-in AT&T 3G.
