10 apps for $50, first 10K get bonus app
MacLegion has unveiled its latest quarterly bundle deal on Mac applications, the Winter Bundle, which consists of 10 apps for $50 (a savings of over 90 percent off the $480 retail price). The special runs for another two weeks, and the first 10,000 buyers will receive a bonus 11th app, the security program MacScan, as well. In addition, one buyer of the bundle will be selected to win an iPad 2 (non-buyers can subscribe to the MacLegion newsletter to enter the drawing) .
The apps in the bundle include Aquafadas' Motion Composer, a $150 program that creates Flash- or HTML5-based animated or interactive web content. By supporting both formats, the program allows creators to develop the content once and deploy it on all modern platforms, including smartphones.
Also included is the word processing program Nisus Writer Pro (a $50 value); the image-filtering and uploading program PhotoStyler ($30); the uninstaller program AppDelete ($8) that properly uninstalls not only programs but plug-ins, widgets and screensavers; LittleSnitch competitor Rubbernet ($40) that alerts users to apps that "phone home" as well as reveal CPU usage of individual apps; Mariner Software's MacGourmet Deluxe recipe manager ($50); Remote Buddy ($27), an app that enables an iOS device or Apple Remote Control to work with over 100 third-party applications; hotel booking application Bellhop ($25); duplicate finder and cleanup utility Tidy Up! ($33), and volume booster program Boom ($13).
All the programs offered in the bundle are the latest versions, and entitle buyers to exactly the same upgrade paths and support as they would get from buying the applications normally. The two-man operation does not offer a portion of the proceeds to charity as some (but not all) other bundles do, but instead increases the amount per sale paid to each developer. The sale runs through December 12th.
