Acer Iconia Tab A200 gets pre-release teaser clip

Acer has taken to a more Apple-like attempt to promote its tablets with a teaser video (below) for the Iconia Tab A200. The promo clip uncovered by I Love Tablette aims for the same sentimental but practical approach as iPad 2 ads but unusually dwells on expansion. A family on a camping trip is touted as helping share memories with microSD cards and a USB port.

Very little else is mentioned about the tablet, although it has Acer Ring, a custom interface later that appears to be a substitute for or complement to the regular Android tablet task switcher with shortcuts as well as running app windows. Other than supporting talk of the A200 being a 10-inch tablet, the clip supports hints that the design might make up for the bulkiness of the A500 with an 0.28-inch thick frame.

Acer is most likely to have the new Iconia Tab running Android 3.2 or 4.0 by the time it's unveiled. A video implies the tablet is close, but Acer may choose to wait until CES in January for a full reveal.

Almost 2 years later they finally get it, it's not about specs only! It took acer two years to understanding, What a Terrible Failure.

    You're camping.

Hey, I'll admit my iPad has replaced the newspaper in my "office", but seriously... a camping trip? Leave it at home for crying out loud. This ad was very strange.

    Simulated interaction....

All interaction in this ads is simulated, like physics in movies CGI shoots you instantly know something is fishy.

They should avoid this If they want us to believe in their products.

    Thank you, Acer.

You just remind of adding an iPad 2 to my X-mas list for my loved one.

Question: What's the difference between Android 3.2 and 4.0?

This ad looks like a cheap home movie. Even with iMovie you can produce better ads. If you compare it to ads from Apple it looks even cheaper. There is no elegance in the presentation of the product. Even the snow is fake. Maybe the ad just reflects the product quality.

Acer has taken to a more Apple-like

If they get any more Apple-like they're going to have to change the name of the company. Ape-er? iCloneApple?

Actually got REALLY BORED watching the commercial and stopped it after less then a minute.
