Sony Ericsson Xperias to get 50GB of Box storage

Sony Ericsson early this week revealed that Xperia owners will get the same 50GB of cloud storage space as their iOS counterparts. It has now clarified that announcement, stating that the Box for Android mobile app isn't quite ready for release. Sony Ericsson would only say the company is in the middle of finalizing the promotion and that it's coming soon.

Whether the offer itself will be time-limited, as it was for iPads, iPhones and iPods, remains to be seen, however. Otherwise, the services are likely to be similar if not identical, with maximum individual file uploads set at 100MB. The company normally offers the 50GB of storage for $20.

HP TouchPad owners were the first to get the 50GB promo, but momentum for the deal fell apart after low demand led to HP dropping the webOS tablet less than two months into its life.
