Sony updates Bravia TVs with YouTube HD, Facebook

Sony has detailed a software update to its Bravia Internet-connected HDTVs that will bring with it a number of new features. They include access to YouTube HD movies, Facebook photos and videos on the full screen, ticker-like Twitter updates while watching TV, and more. TrackID song search results can also be sent directly to Twitter.

The software will also allow for Skype calls, though users will need to log into their accounts. Notebooks have been added as input devices in addition to the already available VAIO keyboard and smartphones. The performance of the Remote Keyboard Lite application hasn't been guaranteed by Sony, however, as it's a trial app.

Unveiled first for Europe, it's not clear how soon the update will be ready for North America.

    Nice!

I think this is so cool! I love the idea of bringing the internet, computer, and TV together.
