Flash also increased to 16GB

Archos has begun shipping a high performance version of its 10.1-inch Android tablet. The 101 G9 Turbo upgrades the dual-core TI OMAP4 processor from 1GHz to 1.2GHz. Also new is the storage, doubling to 16GB.

The Turbo version builds upon the base model that the company began shipping in September. The company still packages the tablet with Android 3.2 (Honeycomb) along with Google's official app collection, which wasn't an option in the previous generation. Both offer a 1280x800 touchscreen, a 720p front facing camera, and a 250GB hard drive. Video can play back at up to 1080p at regular speed.

Standard network connectivity is Wi-Fi, but Archos does offer an optional 3G USB stick. The Turbo's 1.2GHz processor can actually be bumped up to 1.5GHz for those that need more.

The Archos 101 G9 Turbo is priced at 300 ($471 USD). The base version sells for 270 ($424 USD). The 3G Stick is priced at 50 ($78 USD).
