HTC Rezound hit with audio static flaw

HTC Rezound owners have begun mentioning a problem with audio, its signature feature. A number of Droid-Life readers and those elsewhere have encountered noticeable static whenever listening to music. The problem occurs whether or not they listen to the Beats headphones as well as whether or not the source is on the device or streaming.

Not everyone encounters the problem, suggesting it's not an inherent flaw. HTC is aware of the problem but, as with most companies, has tried to downplay the scope.

"HTC has received a very small number of calls related to audio on the Rezound, but nothing that so far points to a broader issue," the company said. "We're continuing to monitor it closely but currently believe the few calls we've received are isolated cases."

Anyone who did encounter the problem, it said, should treat it as a normal hardware problem and ask for a fix or replacement if necessary.
