HP TouchPad Go goes up for very rare auction

HP's unreleased TouchPad Go has surfaced in a very rare eBay auction. The 32GB, 3G model is being sold from China and may have been one of the few if any devices that was fully completed but didn't reach stores. Apart from cosmetic wear, it's fully functional and is running a version of webOS optimized for the seven-inch screen.

At present, just one bid has been made and has it costing $700, or $300 above what the original ten-inch TouchPad cost even while new. That price or higher may be the only way to get the device, however, with HP still uncertain on webOS and putting most of its energy into Windows 8 tablets for 2012.

As with most such auctions, any buyers should be wary. HP might also try to clamp down on the auction given that it touches on unreleased technology. [via The Verge]
