Google Plus for iOS catches up in media features
Google has quietly posted an update to Google+ on iOS (App Store) to bring it more up to par with its Android equivalent. Instant Uploads for photos now post the full-resolution version of a given photo. Anyone can also now give +1 votes to photos, not just posts, and search the fledgling network.
A new icon accompanies the service to reflect Google dropping the black bar it was using across its pages until just last week. Some Android features, such as background photo and video uploads, can't make it to the iOS edition, although it currently supports Hangouts for video chat and most other in-app features.
Although it's not optimized for iPads, Google+ continues to work on any iOS device that can support at least iOS 4.0.
