Hipstamatic hints big update next week
Hipstamatic on Monday sent out teasers for a special event on December 13. The company gave few clues, but he did hint at either a change to the app or a new app altogether through showing the "next trend in mobile photography." The startup would be "making analog digital... again," it said.
The format would be less formal with chief executive Lucas Allen Buick chatting at the company's San Francisco headquarters.
Hipstamatic was one of the first to popularize camera apps on the iPhone and to this day is still one of the more frequent apps. Lately, however, it has been under pressure from Instagram, which added two million new users just from the launch of the iPhone 4S. Hipstamatic has multiple options to counter its rival, such as an iPad or Android port, although none have been leaked out so far.
