DirecTV finally offers TiVo DVRs on December 8

DirecTV TiVo DVRs delays over, due December 8
The much-delayed arrival of TiVo DVRs at DirecTV is finally slotted for a launch date of December 8, according to the satellite provider's forums. The TiVo HD DVR from DirecTV (THR22-100) The release is limited to just ten major US cities, however, with an expansion still being evaluated.
The markets include Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, New York City, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Sacramento, Seattle, and Washington, DC.
The DVR will carry a $5 per month TiVo service fee in addition to the $10 HD Access Fee and the $7 DVR fee. With it, users can access DirecTV's live, on-demand and pay-per-view video services, with updates downloadable through satellite. Users can also schedule recordings using the website.
Whether the new TiVo Premiere UI will be supported remains to be seen, however, as there is no mention of it. Also conspicuously missing are internet streaming, 3D, whole home DVR, and apps features as well as DirecTV iPad compatibility.
